Pupil and Sports Premium
Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to support pupils who may face financial or social disadvantages. This funding is intended to help close the attainment gap between these pupils and their peers, ensuring all pupils have the best possible chance to succeed.
The funding is provided to support:
- Children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), or who have been eligible in the last six years.
- Looked After Children (children in care).
- Children of Armed Forces families.
How Do We Use the Pupil Premium?
At Badgerbrook Primary, we are committed to using Pupil Premium funding effectively to make a positive impact on our eligible pupils
’ education and well-being. Each year, we develop a plan outlining how the funding will be allocated to best support these pupils. Here are some of the ways we may use Pupil Premium funding:
- Academic Support: Additional teaching resources, targeted interventions, and small group tutoring to help pupils in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and science.
- Pastoral Care: Support for emotional well-being and mental health, including one-on-one mentoring, access to a school counsellor, and activities that promote self-esteem and resilience.
- Enrichment Activities: Funding to support participation in educational trips, extracurricular activities, music lessons, and other opportunities that foster learning and personal growth.
- Resources for Home and School: Providing necessary materials and resources, such as study aids and books, to ensure pupils have what they need to succeed.
Who is Eligible for the Pupil Premium?
Families who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), or who have been eligible in the past six years, are automatically eligible for Pupil Premium funding. Children who are in care (Looked After Children) or children of parents in the Armed Forces also qualify.
If you believe your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, please contact our school office or click here to apply. You can also find eligibility criteria and application details on the official government website.
Reporting and Impact
