Computing

At Badgerbrook Primary School, our motto “learning, achieving, and celebrating together” is at the heart of everything we do – including how we approach computing.

We believe that computing is more than just using technology; it’s about helping children think logically, creatively and confidently as they explore the digital world. Our computing curriculum is carefully designed to connect with other subjects like maths, science and design & technology to help pupils understand how technology links to the world around them.

At the core of our computing lessons is computer science. Children learn how computers work, how to write simple programs and how to understand the principles of information and computation. As they build upon these skills, they also learn how to use technology to create digital content—from animations and presentations to simple games and apps.

Through this journey, our pupils become digitally literate; able to use technology safely and effectively to communicate, explore ideas, and solve problems. We aim to give every child the confidence and knowledge they need to thrive in a fast-changing digital world.
